A significant update regarding one of the most eagerly awaited film releases of the year looks set to split opinion among fans.

A brand new big-screen adaptation of one of gaming’s most beloved franchises is on its way, with fresh details now emerging about the production.

A new cinematic take on the iconic horror title Resident Evil is expected to arrive in cinemas this September.

Based on Capcom’s legendary game series, which launched in 1996 with its debut title and recently marked the release of its ninth main entry, Resident Evil Requiem, earlier this year.

A previous film franchise, starring Milla Jovovich, spanned six instalments between 2002 and 2017, amassing over $1.2 billion at the global box office.

A reboot was attempted in 2021 under the title Welcome to Raccoon City, but it failed to win over either critics or devoted fans. Now, the director behind modern horror successes such as Barbarian and Weapons is taking a fresh crack at the franchise.

Furthermore, Deadline reports that Sony screened the first trailer for Zach Cregger’s version at CinemaCon on April 13, and while the footage has yet to be made available to the public, images have already surfaced online — along with further details about the film’s plot and characters, reports the Mirror.

Following the teaser’s debut screening, the studio revised the film’s official synopsis. The entirely new storyline will centre on Bryan (portrayed by Weapons actor Austin Abrams), a medical courier who inadvertently finds himself caught up in a breathless, relentless fight for survival, as one fateful, terrifying night descends into mayhem around him.

For those eager to catch the trailer ahead of its wider release, Variety has also provided a detailed breakdown of its contents. They noted: “(It) starts out with Austin Abrams’ character stumbling upon an abandoned house in a snowy field, desperate to find a working phone. He frantically calls his girlfriend and apologises for getting disconnected earlier – and that they may never speak again.”

Their account continues: “Shots of horrifying zombies fill the rest of the trailer, including a pale, bloated monster sitting at the bottom of a sewer. The biggest moment of the trailer comes when Abrams is running through a deserted street as a zombie horde chases him from the rooftops. It ends with zombie bodies splattering violently as the creatures plummet to the ground.”

Joining Abrams in the cast are Johnno Wilson as Max, and Paul Walter Hauser of Fantastic Four fame as Carl. Succession alumnus Zach Cherry and boxer-turned-True Detective star Kalie Reis are also set to appear, though the specifics of their respective roles remain undisclosed.

Cregger has already spoken out about the film, describing it as “a big, scary ride” that he hoped would be “true to the spirit of the games.” He revealed that he has personally played “a sh*tload of Resident Evil” himself, hailing it as the ‘gold standard’ of horror.

Nevertheless, some fans may harbour concerns that the story details and character names bear no resemblance whatsoever to any plotlines or roles from the games. The sole potential connection could be if the mentioned house is in fact a mansion, as that serves as the setting for the original game.

Fans have been voicing their thoughts and reservations online in response to the update. One posted: “Proceeds to make a movie that has nothing to do with the video games.”

Another added: “So it’s just a generic zombie movie with the Resident Evil branding that has nothing to do with the series.” While someone else quipped: “Feel like the parent that asked their kid if they did the dishes and they responded with ‘NO BUT WE MADE SURE TO CLEAN THE TABLE AND FLOOR REALLY NICE!’ Why is it so hard to just use one of the many main characters the game has?”

However, a handful remained intrigued by what the acclaimed filmmaker might deliver within the Resident Evil universe, even if it proves not to be a faithful adaptation. As one person noted: “In Zach Cregger we trust. If anyone can make zombies scary again in 2026, it’s the man who gave us the basement scene in Barbarian.”

Resident Evil is expected to hit UK cinemas on September 18, 2026.

The strange and scrappy voyage of “Titanique,” the feel-great musical-comedy sendup of the movie “Titanic” and singer Celine Dion, has been a wonder to behold. And pretty hard to believe.

If the RMS Titanic was the largest vessel of its time and thought to be unsinkable, “Titanique,” which opened on Broadway Sunday night, started out as a wooden rowboat with a single paddle.

Its first sizable-ish production was in 2022 at the Asylum in Chelsea — basically a broom closet beneath a shuttered Gristedes.

Back then, I went on a lark and left on a high. “Titanique” was the only show in New York that accurately read the room. After theaters reopened in 2021, most musicals skewed serious. But the loud chorus of laughter under that grocery store was frankly disturbing.

“Titanique” was sized up and moved to a larger off-Broadway venue, where it ran nearly three years. And then she embarked on the craziest cruise ship route ever: London, Sydney, Paris, São Paulo, Chicago, Toronto and Montreal.

And now “Titanique” has finally arrived on Broadway.

Was it smooth sailing?

I can’t say the humongous St. James Theatre, which suits hardly any show, is my favorite port of call. Nobody can argue that its distancing size is an asset to a musical that thrives on a dirty-little-secret energy. And actors dashing 10 feet to the wings doesn’t suit a staging packed with rapid-fire gags. Its new set of metal platforms and beams is more concert tour than comedy hour.

Yet the unhinged underdog retains its essential charms.

There’s Celine’s hit songs, such as “My Heart Will Go On” and “A New Day Has Come,” which have never had a dedicated Broadway berth before.

The smart and zippy book by director Tye Blue, Marla Mindelle and Constantine Rousouli weaves those emotional and nicely sung tunes into a well-told, consolidated version of James Cameron’s “Titanic” that’s also hilarious.

And with a Bugs Bunny brain that should be studied by scientists, Mindelle, playing Celine Dion as an omnipresent narrator, brings back one of the most memorable performances from any new musical in years.

The uninitiated might be wondering how Dion, who sang the 1997 film’s end-credits track, factors into the fictional 1912 story of Jack and Rose.

She’ll tell you! The musical begins when Celine crashes a Titanic Museum tour and announces that she was right there on the boat to witness the drama.

“But Celine? That would make you 140 years old,” says the flummoxed guide.

Responds the diva: “And you are confused because?”

“Titanique,” you see, banks not only on Dion’s music, but her out-there public persona. The logic is that the songstress is so confident, genuinely eccentric and, well, French Canadian, we’ll believe anything she says.

And as played by Mindelle, we do. We really do.

From there, Celine explains how engaged Rose (Melissa Barrera) met poor starving artist Jack (Rousouli) and embarked on a love affair that, in this telling, makes the audience weep tears of hysterical joy.

“Titanique” blows up all those Oscar-winning characters into ridiculous and occasionally filthy cartoons.

Rose and Jack are a match made in a hair salon. She’s a naive cheerleader type and Jack’s a vain pretty boy without a thought in his blond head. Silly Rousouli plays that up with “aw shucks” skips and winks.  

Rose’s mean fiancé Cal (the silky voiced John Riddle) is rendered a Manhattan Jafar who demands the ship go faster so he can make his hair appointment in SoHo.  

Meanwhile the boat’s bedazzled captain called, um, Victor Garber (Frankie Grande), has a different reason for pushing the speed limit. He’s driving dangerously to force a pitstop on Fire Island.

And of all the actors I’ve seen play Ruth, Rose’s frigid and scheming mother, Jim Parsons is the most easily savage, if not the most extreme. His trusty Sheldon voice sure does lend itself to venomous putdowns.  

As their hearts go on and on, songs are humorously and abruptly dropped in a la “Mamma Mia!” During the lovebirds’ first encounter, they duet on “Taking Chances.” When Jack paints Rose like one of his French girls, Celine croons “Because You Loved Me.”

Canadian chanteuse Deborah Cox excitedly belts “All By Myself” as she’s on the lifeboat. And she and Mindelle wail “Tell Him” to explain to Rose how to have sex with the help of a stuffed eggplant.

And playing the Iceberg is British actor Layton Williams. Yes, one of the creators’ more 3 a.m. ideas is having the Iceberg come to life in the form of Tina Turner to sing “River Deep Mountain High.” Williams is a smash, and this time the audience cheers the Iceberg.  

The entire cast is in ship shape. However, “Titanique”’s raison dêtre, as it always has been, is Mindelle’s glorious Celine. Yes, it’s a wacky and detailed impression, but what really makes the performance work is that Mindelle and Dion have a mutual madness to them. Deux pois in a pod. Behind the actress’ “Bon jour! Ca va?” mimicry is an unexpectedly natural and relaxed performance because the goofiness is just as much hers as it is Dion’s. She’s sensational.    

You enter a fan of Celine, you leave a fan of Marla.

An epic World War 1 film hailed as superior to Saving Private Ryan is streaming now in the UK. 1917 (2019) tells the story of two young British soldiers, Lance Corporals Schofield and Blake (played by George MacKay and Dean-Charles Chapman) as they take on a perilous mission in northern France during the Great War.

Under a hail of enemy fire, the pair race to deliver a life-or-death warning to 1,600-strong remote regiment to prevent them being caught in a German trap. The film, co-written and directed by James Bond director Sam Mendes consists of long-takes stitched together to create a deep sense of immersion.

It features a host of British and Irish stars with Mark Strong, Andrew Scott, Richard Madden, Claire Duburcq, Colin Firth, Adrian Scarborough, and Benedict Cumberbatch appearing in supporting roles.

A reviewer on Tom’s Guide said it’s “pretty much my favorite war movie ever made” ranking it even above classics of the genre like Steven Spielberg‘s acclaimed WW2 epic Saving Private Ryan, Apocalypse Now and All Quiet on the Western Front.

Fans have taken to IMDb to lavish it with praise, with one writing: “The plot is among the simplest I’ve seen in a war film and the movie is really about action and the men’s struggle to sneak across the battlefield and alert their troops….simple.

“Yet it was made so thoughtfully and realistically that it really worked well. A brilliantly made film…among the best I’ve seen about war. But it’s also very graphic and unpleasant….so be forewarned.”

Another wrote: “1917 is a poem. Is the most deep, impressive and realistic way of seeing what kinds of things happened in WWI.

“This movie made me leave the movies with tears in my eyes as if I have had a time travel experience to the World War I, and then waking up and realizing how wonderful are the times we are living in. 1917 is a must see movie for everyone.”

A third gave it a perfect score, saying the WW1 thriller is “simply a modern day masterpiece”.

“I was blown away by every single frame of the film and to think they have managed to create the illusion of the whole movie being 1 single shot is absolutely phenomenal which is why every award given is completely well deserved!,” they added.

The film has a 15 certificate and contains strong injury detail and language – so viewer discretion is advised.

Amusement parks around the world are locked in a race to build the fastest, tallest and most terrifying roller coasters imaginable. Engineers are pushing the limits of speed, height and G-forces, designing rides that twist, drop and launch like never before. 

But as coasters reach new extremes, the thrill comes with genuine risk, raising the question: how far can human tolerance — and physics itself — allow the quest for ultimate adrenaline to go?

Recently, at the Six Flags Over Texas park in Arlington, owners installed the world’s tallest vertical loop on its new Tormenta Rampaging Run ride. At 179 feet — as high as Niagara Falls’ American Falls — the loop is just one of six world records the new coaster will set when it opens soon, including being the tallest (309 feet), fastest (87 mph) and longest (4,199 feet) dive coaster.

The ride, designed by Swiss-based firm Bolliger & Mabillard, represents a daring leap into a new future for roller coasters, but also highlights the extent of the coaster arms race that parks are always fighting.

Currently, the world’s fastest roller coaster is Falcons Flight at Six Flags Qiddiya City in Saudi Arabia, which reaches speeds of 155.3 mph — or about the same as the take-off speed as a Boeing 737 airplane.

At Ferrari World Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates, meanwhile, the Formula Rossa ride reaches a top speed of 149 mph in less than five seconds and exerts 4.8Gs on riders, more than astronauts experience when they lift off on a space mission. It propels riders at 128 mph before climbing ever upward and dropping them 418 feet back down again — the tallest and largest drop on any operating roller coaster in the world.

For roller coaster aficionados like Nick Weisenberger, author of “Coasters 101: An Engineer’s Guide to Roller Coaster Design” (CreateSpace), it is becoming increasingly difficult to see just what’s next when it comes to coasters.

“Look at Falcon’s Flight. It smashed all the records as the tallest, longest and fastest roller coaster in the world,” he tells The Post.

 “I’m still in disbelief that it even exists, so it’s hard to realistically imagine a roller coaster bigger than that.”

But as coasters climb ever higher and move even faster, engineers are looking toward new technologies to make rides more exciting, investing in magnetic launch systems, cliff-clinging layouts and multiple launch sites to take thrills to heights and velocities once thought impossible. The Sea Stallion ride, also at Six Flags Qiddiya City, for example, allows riders to race and overtake each other and also boasts interactive speed control and boost buttons, giving riders the chance to dictate their own pace.

While the pursuit of headline-grabbing top speeds continues, however, there are limits to what can be achieved, Weisenberger notes. 

“Speed itself is not a limiting factor but acceleration forces, or change in speed and direction, are,” he says.

Ever since LaMarcus Anna Thompson opened the Switchback Railway at Coney Island in 1884, coasters have followed a simple path from start to finish. But Weisenberger says the future will bring rides with varied options and outcomes — not just getting from Point A to Point B as fast as possible.

“I think we’ll see more storytelling, multi-generational experiences, and innovative track elements that blend coasters with dark or indoor rides,” he says. “Track switches and multi-pass launches will extend ride time without adding more track.”

Michael Graham, engineer and principal at award-winning wooden coaster designers The Gravity Group, agrees. “Extreme record-breaking projects are rare,” he says. “The trend now is toward family and immersive experiences, especially given the budget limits on height and speed.”

A case in point is the $50 million NightFlight Expedition ride at Dollywood, Dolly Parton’s park in Tennessee. 

Built by German firm Mack Rides and opening this spring, the 44,000-square-foot indoor ride combines a roller coaster element, simulated flight and a white water raft section with over 500,000 gallons of water. 

“NightFlight Expedition is a visceral experience,” says Pete Evans, Dollywood VP of marketing and p.r.  “It’s got a multidirectional flight, rafting, shoot-the-chute and boat ride — all in one.” 

The problem for parks is that new rides don’t come cheap, and as construction costs escalate, many parks shy away from the huge investment required.

Recently, for example, Six Flags, one of the biggest amusement park operators in the US, announced they were selling seven of their 40 parks (including Great Escape in Queensbury, NY) in a bid to reduce debts reported to be in excess of $5 billion.

Lack of space at most parks also makes any grander designs all the more difficult.

It’s why most of the new record breaking rides now tend to be in the Middle East, where money and space are rarely an obstacle. Falcon’s Flight, for example, cost between $400 million and $500 million to design and build, making it the most expensive rollercoaster in history.

“ ‘Higher, bigger, faster’ offers little in terms of ROI,” says Jeffrey P. Stoneking, author of “Theme Park Safety Failure$” (AuthorHouse). “So nostalgia and simply replacing rides might be where the future is now heading.”

The limits on just how far coasters can go is also dependent on just what riders can withstand. 

Currently, the Advancing Standards Transforming Markets Committee F24 is responsible for writing and maintaining the safety standards for amusement rides and devices in the United States, ensuring that acceleration and duration limits remain within human tolerance levels.

Occasionally, however, coasters only realize just what riders can cope with after they have opened.

In 2010, for instance, the Intimidator 305 ride at Kings Dominion in Roswell, Va., was forced into modifications after several riders “grayed out,” temporarily losing consciousness because of the extreme G-forces the coaster subjected them to.

Jeffrey Stoneking, who rode it in its first week, sustained severe nerve and muscle damage and sued Kings Dominion; parent company Cedar Fair; ride manufacturer Intamin; and Werner Stengel / Ingenieurbüro Stengel GmbH, the engineers responsible for the ride calculation.

He eventually settled out of court.

“I spent two months on my back,” Stoneking says.

You don’t even have to be on the ride to be in danger. 

In August 2021, Rachel Hawes was waiting in line to ride the Top Thrill Dragster at Cedar Point in Sandusky, Ohio, when a piece of metal came loose from the coaster and hit her in the head, leaving her permanently disabled. After racking up medical bills in excess of $2 million, Hawes reached a confidential settlement with the operators in April 2024. 

For all the apparent danger, rollercoaster fatalities are exceptionally rare, with odds of dying on a fixed-site amusement park ride estimated at about 1 in 750 million rides. 

When deaths do occur, however, they are largely the result of medical events that take place while riding or prohibited rider behavior, like standing, rather than any mechanical failure or lapses in safety procedures. 

That means when they do happen, they tend to be big news.

Last year in September 2025, for instance, Kevin Rodriguez Zavala, a 32-year-old from Kissimmee, Fla., became unresponsive while riding the Stardust Racers roller coaster at Universal’s Epic Universe theme park and later died at hospital. 

An official investigation by Orange County’s Sheriff’s Office concluded that, while Zavala had died from multiple injuries caused by his head repeatedly hitting the metal safety bar in front of him, his death was nevertheless an accident.

Despite the risks, the quest for faster, taller rides continues. 

But Stoneking argues speed alone doesn’t make a good ride. “Anything above 100 mph is just a blur,” he says. 

“The bigger question is whether going faster than that is really necessary.”

“Graveyard Keeper is the most inaccurate medieval cemetery management sim of all time,” reads the official description.

“Build and manage your own graveyard, and expand into other ventures, while finding shortcuts to cut costs. Use all the resources you can find.

“After all, this is a game about the spirit of capitalism, and doing whatever it takes to build a thriving business. And it’s also a love story.”

Players can also embark on actual quests, or take a trip to the nearby dungeons where more resources are available to discover.

A sequel is pencilled in to release later this year, making this the perfect time to check out the original.

We’re keeping our fingers crossed that Jack Black gets in on the fun with his pal again.

Jack White — who served as the musical guest on “Saturday Night Live” alongside the “School of Rock” host on April 4 — just announced he’s added a North American leg to his 2026 world tour.

The U.S. and Canadian portion of the run is slated to go down at theaters, music halls, clubs, auditoriums, amphitheaters and festivals first in July and then from September through November.

On his last official outing in winter 2025 (that came on the heels of the release of his sixth studio album “No Name”), White typically performed 20-25 songs per show. At his Brooklyn Paramount gig on Feb. 12, he rocked 21 tracks including White Stripes fan favorites “Seven Nation Army,” “Icky Thump” and “Hotel Yorba” as well as Raconteurs tunes, Dead Weather deep cuts, ditties from his solo career and stunning Iggy Pop and Booker T. and the MG’s covers.

“…everything he takes to the stage from metal to garage rock to soul-searching blues to singalong clap along jams to folksy Celtic Americana with sing-songy rhymes…sounds just as good live as [it] does on his immaculately produced albums,” The Post reported in an emphatic review of the concert.

They added that their only disappointment of the night was “that the show ended.”

Jack White new music

“No Name” just might have the most unconventional record release story for any album…ever.

In July 2025, unmarked vinyl discs were discreetly put in shopping bags at White’s Third Man Records shops. There was no notice or promotion. Just a sweet surprise.

As for the record, “No Name” is a throwback to White’s signature bluesy garage rock. Tight harmonies, hooky bass lines, freewheeling yet controlled guitar solos and unhinged vocals meld together to create something radio-friendly, personal and endlessly listenable all at once.

Personally, we can’t get enough of the bleating, barroom anthem “That’s How I’m Feeling,” strummy, thrumming “What’s The Rumpus?” and “Underground” which sprinkles in sumptuous hints of tropicalia.

Make sure to check out the tension-building, talk-y, intentionally over-enunciated “Archbishop Harold Holmes,” too. It’s a toe-tappin’ headbanger that will leave a smile on your face. In short, the tune makes every part of your body react. That’s the power of Jack White.

In regards to the new singles, “G.O.D. And The Broken Ribs” is a muscly, rollicking crowd-pleaser with fuzzed-out guitar, in-your-face attitude and White’s singular falsetto. “Derecho Demonico” slows things down a beat and embraces the Detroit native’s more playful side.

Jack White on “SNL”

As noted above, Jack White lent his talents to the April 3 Jack White-hosted episode of “SNL.”

At the show, he performed his aforementioned recently-released singles and also popped in on Black’s “Five Timer’s Club” monologue (where he gave Marcello Hernandez’s recurring character Domingo a whack with a frying pan) and contributed to the country-tastic, pre-taped “Words To Live By” music video.

Created by Don Fogelman, the gripping drama follows a secret service agent investigating the murder of a former president within what appears to be a tranquil, picture-perfect community – though, as viewers rapidly discover, things aren’t quite what they seem. The series stars Sterling K. Brown, Sarah Shahi, and Nichole Brydon Bloom, with many lauding the performances as a principal reason the show proves such compulsive viewing.

Taking to Reddit‘s TV suggestions thread, one viewer struggled to contain their enthusiasm, writing: “Paradise on Hulu!! Highly recommend! I seriously cannot recommend this show enough, not sure what else there is to say. If you need something new to watch, please watch Paradise!”

And it appears they are far from alone. Responding to the post, another user added: “Same here! We are halfway through season two, it is an excellent series plus it has Sterling K. Brown who is just a fantastic actor. Love it!”

A third said: “Watched season one and thought it was excellent – took me an episode and a half to figure out what the heck was going on.”

Others alluded to significant moments without revealing too much, with one viewer commenting: “Agreed! Just finished season two. Won’t share any spoilers, but I also highly recommend watching this show.

“Glad to hear that it’s apparently been renewed for a third season. Since the director said the story was always intended to be told in three seasons, I guess it will be the final one. It should be a real doozie!”

“A deliberate slow pace start with a clever story structure, a few mysterious elements and plenty of suspects on the table. But it’s the big surprise twist at the end that will definitely have you coming back for more.”

Another viewer noted: “Finally a smart, engrossing show with strong actors in strong roles. Well written and detailed. I went in with no expectations and the mega twist at the end of the first episode had me sold.”

With its combination of intrigue, drama and astonishing revelations, it’s straightforward to understand why audiences are encouraging others to start viewing immediately – before those crucial plot developments are spoiled.

The 2025 Jingle Ball wasn’t enough.

After performing at four arenas all over the U.S. with a number of other hitmakers last December, Monsta X is returning to North America for their ten-concert ‘The X: Nexus Tour’ in support of their recently-released, third English album “Unfold.”

Shownu, Minhyuk, Kihyun, Hyungwon, Joohoney, and I.M’s brief run spans from Oct. 3-24 and will send them to arenas, theaters, music hall and pavilions all over North America.

That includes a stop at New York City’s Infosys Theater at Madison Square Garden on Tuesday, Oct. 6.

Prior to the forthcoming North American leg of the outing, Monsta X launched ‘The X: Nexus Tour’ at Seoul’s KSPO Dome with back-to-back-to-back concerts on Jan. 30 through Feb. 1.

According to Set List FM, the vocally-gifted sextet delivered 30+ songs each night. Notable tracks to make the cut included fan favorites “Love Killah,” “DRAMARAMA,” “MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT,” “Beautiful Liar” and “Fire & Ice” as well as solo performances from each member.

Interestingly, the group did not play a single “Unfold” number over the course of the three-night residency. That being said, they were able to work the new record’s smash single “baby blue” into their short Jingle Ball sets.

“Capturing the audience’s attention from their very appearance, MONSTA X dazzled the stage with powerful energy, intense performances, and their unique sensibility,” The Cho Sun Daily reported in a review of their Dec. 12 MSG Jingle Ball gig.

Toward the end of the set, “the audience swayed their hands above their heads, creating a moving scene, and the resounding voices of the fans once again underscored the group’s global popularity,” The Cho Sun Daily added.

Metallica won’t be relegated to just the Sphere this year.

On Monday, April 6, James Hetfield, Lars Ulrich, Kirk Hammett and Robert Trujillo announced they’ll perform two nights at Uncasville, CT’s 10,000-seat Mohegan Sun Arena in November to celebrate the venue’s 25th anniversary.

This will be the first time the Rock Hall of Famers have performed in the Constitution State since July 1998 when they headlined at Hartford’s Meadows Music Theater as part of their ‘Poor Re-Touring Me Tour.’

Now, a little more than 28 years later, they’ll return on:

As is standard for Metallica, their Thursday and Saturday shows will be totally different from one another. Since 2023, the group has been putting on “No Repeat Weekends” where they play a pair of wholly unique concerts with zero overlap to make sure they cover all the hits and deep cuts for fans.

Although we can’t guarantee what tracks the Rock Hall of Famers have planned for Mohegan Sun, Set List FM reports they typically rock biggies like “Master of Puppets,” “Seek & Destroy,” “Sad But True,” “Nothing Else Matters” and “Creeping Death” on night one while saving “Enter Sandman,” “One,” “Ride The Lightning,” “Whiplash” and “Blackened” for night two.

The iconic KISS rock star Gene Simmons has been getting into the movie business, and fans fans have been mocking him for doing something other than music.

Simmons doesn’t seem to be bothered.

Simmons posted a selfie video last Thursday promoting his new survival thriller movie “Deep Water,” set for release May 1. Simmons is a producer of the movie.

“I may actually show up unannounced at some movie theaters across the country to watch the movie with you,” he teased in a post on X.

An account titled “The KISS Army General,” and self-described as a fan of Simmons’ rock band, replied to his post, asking sarcastically, “Don’t you have ENOUGH money yet Gene???”

Simmons responded to what he said, saying it was a “loser’s question.”

“Warren Buffet, Jeff Bezos, Elon Musk all get up every day and try to make more,” the rock star said. “No matter how much they’ve got. Get out of your losers’s mentality, and try to win in life, every day.”

Simmons made most of his fortune as the bassist and co-lead singer of KISS. He has a net worth of about $400 million after a humble start to life in Israel as the son of Jewish refugees from Hungary.

In 2024, KISS’s song catalogue, image, likeness and name was sold for $300 million.

Much of his wealth is from licensing deals using the KISS name on products as diverse as pinball machines and condoms.

The branding has reportedly generated $1 billion in licensing since the band started in 1973, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Simmons has also written books and participated in reality show contests. When it comes to the movie business, he’s produced films as far back as 1999 and even acted in some movies like “Runaway” in the 1980s.

In the public sphere, Simmons has not been afraid to speak his mind on controversial issues. Last month, he made headlines tearing into celebrities who comment on politics, telling them to “shut the f–k up.“

“Do your art and shut up. Nobody’s interested in your opinions, that includes me. Who I vote for. Who I like. People in America work hard for a living and they don’t want to be lectured to by people who live in mansions and drive Rolls-Royces,” he said.

Bo Lueders, the guitarist for pioneering hardcore band Harm’s Way, tragically died at just 38 years old.

His bandmates shared the news in a heartbreaking Instagram post, saying the musician “will be remembered for his unwavering empathy and compassion for his friends & family and his magnetic, inimitable presence on & off the stage.”

While Lueders’ cause of death was provided, his band mentioned the suicide and crisis lifeline for those “struggling with depression or urges to self-harm.”

It is with heavy, broken hearts that we share that our beloved Bo Lueders has passed away.

He will be remembered for his unwavering empathy and compassion for his friends & family and his magnetic, inimitable presence on & off the stage.

A GoFundMe campaign organized by Lueder’s “HardLore” podcast co-host Colin Young to help the guitarist’s mother and girlfriend pay memorial expenses in Chicago described the artist as “Beloved to the world.”

Born Bohan Daniel Lueders in November 1987, he co-founded Harm’s Way in 2006 as a side project of punk band Few and the Proud, which later became a full-time act, the Los Angeles Times reported.

The band went on to release five studio albums and five EPs, including “Human Carrying Capacity,” “Become a Machine” and “Call My Name.”

Lueders helped launch the “HardLore” podcast in 2022 alongside Young, focusing on life in the hardcore, punk and metal scene.

In a recent episode answering listener questions, Lueders said he would most like to hear a Björk song before he died.

“I just wanna drift and go peacefully,” he said.

Prior to the Aug. 14 release of “Sunshine,” the sonically-gifted trio dropped the record’s melancholy yet happy-go-lucky lead single “Carry On” that DIY Mag says “spotlights their signature angelic harmonies over a buoyant bed of breezy percussion.”

On their last outing, the London natives typically performed 23 songs per show, according to Set List FM. Fan favorites that made the cut included “Casio,” “I’ve Been In Love,” “Let’s Go Back,” “Busy Earnin’” and, of course, “Back On 74.”

“… attendees sang along word for word as Josh Lloyd-Watson, Tom McFarland, Lydia Kitto and their deep-in-the-pocket bandmates delivered a dance party that felt joyful, breezy and even for those less acquainted with their discography, absolutely infectious,” Variety reported about a September 2024 Hollywood Bowl concert.

On March 24, Jungle unveiled the lead single “Carry On” ahead of the release of their album “Sunshine.”

The poppy track is a bit less funky than the group’s traditionally groovier efforts but is still uplifting (the swirling chorus will have you bopping along in no time) with a hint of gloom and regret mixed in for good measure.

Josh Gad and Andrew Rannells have re-opened their copies of “The Book of Mormon.”

The stars, who originated the roles of Elder Cunningham and Elder Price on Broadway, are coming back to the Eugene O’Neill Theatre from June 9-14 to celebrate the 15th anniversary of Trey Parker and Matt Stone’s Tony and Olivier Award-winning musical.

They’ll be joined by Tony winner Nikki M. James (Nabulungi), and Tony nominee Rory O’Malley (Elder McKinley) at the “Magical Mormon Mystery Week’s” worth of shows.

If you’d like to see the iconic thespians “perform select scenes and songs alongside the current cast” — with no two performances being the same (!) — tickets are available for all seven shows.

At the time of publication, the lowest price we could find for any one show was $226 including fees on StubHub.

Other productions have seats starting anywhere from $228 to $270 including fees.

“You won’t know who you’re getting [on the night of the show you go to],” Parker, Stone and Robert Lopez told Stephen Colbert while breaking the exciting news.

Parker then added “I’m actually going to play Joseph Smith and Jesus.”

In addition to Parker, Playbill reports that “Stone, and Lopez as well as Broadway’s original Mormon and Ugandan ensembles at certain performances, plus other surprise guests from the Mormon family” will pop up throughout the week.

For the uninitiated, “The Book of Mormon” tells the story of a mismatched pair of missionaries who ship off to Uganda to convert local villagers to, you guessed it, Mormonism.

Current cast members spearheading the ensemble include Kevin Clay (Elder Price), Diego Enrico (Elder Cunningham) and Sydney Quildon (Nabulungi).

“…underneath the profanity, the show’s actually really sweet,” The Post reported back in March 2011. “…Parker and Stone don’t make fun of Mormons per se. Or they don’t make fun of them any more or less than they make fun of a lot of other things and people.”

Outside of June 9-14, “The Book of Mormon” is chugging along at the Eugene O’Neill Theatre with no end in sight.

If you’d like to see the tenth-longest running show in Broadway history that Entertainment Weekly calls “the funniest musical of all time,” shows take place Tuesday through Sunday.

Matinees go down at 2 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.

The musical runs 2 hours and 30 minutes with a 15-minute intermission. You can expect to get out of an evening show at 9:30 p.m.

Although Gad, Rannells, James and O’Malley aren’t regularly at the Eugene O’Neill Theatre these days, here’s who you can find at the playhouse these days.

Kevin Clay (Elder Price) is a “proud graduate” of Penn State University and has performed at the Pittsburgh Civic Light Opera, Music Theatre Wichita and Wagon Wheel Theatre.

Diego Enrich (Elder Cunningham) made his Broadway debut with “The Book of Mormon.” Prior to joining the cast, he acted as Cunningham on the North American tour of the show from 2024-25.

Sydney Quildon (Nabulungi) debuted on Broadway with “The Book of Mormon” as well. She’s a Hartt School grad and also starred as Ariel in “The Little Mermaid” before linking up with the ensemble.

Charlie Franklin (Elder McKinley) returned to “The Book of Mormon” after working elsewhere. He’s also appeared in “Succession” and “The Loudest Voice.”

Jacques C. Smith (Mafala Hatimbi) may look familiar. He previously inhabited the role of Benny in “Rent” and popped up in “General Hospital,” “Law & Order,” “ER,” “CSI: Miami” and “Oz” where he was a series regular.

Shakira is about to log some serious frequent flyer miles.

The four-time Grammy winner just announced she’s extended her ‘LAS MUJERES YA NO LLORAN WORLD TOUR’ with “intimate arena dates” at venues all over the globe from June through October.

Prior to this run, Shakira last took ‘LAS MUJERES YA NO LLORAN’ — which comes in support of her well-received 2024 album with the same name — to venues all over the U.S., Canada and South America in 2025.

According to Set List FM, the hitmaker typically performed 25-27 songs per night. That includes fan favorites like “Whenever, Wherever,” “She Wolf,” “Hip Don’t Lie,” “Antología” and “Estoy aquí” as well as cuts from the new record like “BZRP Music Sessions #53,” which closed the show.

“Perhaps the most impressive element of the concert was Shakira’s stamina and the shows intense focus on her and her alone,” SF Bay Area Concerts wrote in a review of a June 2025 gig at Oracle Park.

“…whether she was dancing, singing, talking or just shooting a look to the crowd, she oozed charisma and likeability that is universal across the globe. 

As of now, there’s no word yet on whether or not her music from the “Zootopia 2” soundtrack will make the set list.

Shakira new music

On March 22, 2024, Shakira released her 12th studio album “Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran.”

Comprised of 17 tracks featuring big-name collaborators like Cardi B, Bizarrap, Grupo Frontera, Rauw Alejandro, and Ozuna among others, the decorated songstress sticks to español this time around. However, whether or not you speak Spanish is beside the point; Shakira’s music is so catchy that you won’t mind looking up what the lyrics mean on Google Translate.

Highlights include the dance floor-ready hit “Shakira: Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 53,” the infectious mariachi-inspired “El Jefe” with Fuerza Regida, and the icy “TQG” featuring Karol G.

While the whole album crackles, we’d be remiss if we didn’t shout our favorite track: the disco-flavored “Cohete.” We can’t stop listening. It’s a certifiable party-starter.

We can’t wait to return to Randall’s Island.

For the second straight year, John Summit’s Experts Only Festival will take place at the former Gov Ball site.

This time, the 31-year-old turntablist is bringing his two-day extravaganza to the green, outdoor space on Sept. 19-20.

He’ll be joined by big names like GRiZ, Prospa, LYNY, Korolova and a SUBJOHNICS b2b set with none other than Subtronics.

Other biggies shared as part of their “phase one” lineup rollout include Taiki Nulight, Devault, Dreya V and OMRI.

Rounding out the star-studded bill are EDM biggies Partiboi69, Jackie Hollander, Dansyn, Airrica and Gabss.

In total, 20 artists are set to rock the Manhattan grounds with more to be announced at a later date.

“New York City’s biggest dance music festival returns on sept 19+20 with new names, familiar faces, & surprises you won’t wanna miss,” Experts Only shared via Instagram.

Experts Only is more than welcome in NYC after the annual Electric Zoo mysteriously disappeared after the 2023 event was plagued with issues — including but not limited to “supply chain disruptions,” “police blocking traffic,” full-day cancellations and threats of lawsuits to name just a few — that resulted in refunds for paying customers. Although they never officially ended things, their Instagram has been inactive for over a year.

As for Experts Only, The Post attended the inaugural 2025 edition and reported “…this festival felt like a reminder of how fun and refreshing a well-executed music event can be…even as a house-only event, it felt personal and flawless, but not in a scrappy and overwhelming way…nothing distracted from the music or laid-back atmosphere.”

Sony dropped a bombshell earlier this week, announcing plans to increase the price of the regular PlayStation 5, PS5 Pro and PlayStation Portal in the UK, US, Japan and Europe. The new prices will be introduced on April 2. The price of the regular PS5 will increase to £569.99, the Digital Edition will cost £519.99, and the PS5 Pro will be priced at £789.99. The PlayStation Portal, meanwhile, will increase from £199.99 to £219.99. Fortunately, however, Argos customers can take advantage of a limited time discounted deal on the PS5 Pro before the price increase.

There’s no word on how long the deal will remain in place, so you’d better hurry if you want to make the saving.

According to the Argos website, the discounted PS5 Pro is currently the bestseller in the PlayStation category, so don’t be surprised if stock sells out.

It’s worth noting that the PS5 Pro is a digital only console, which means it doesn’t come with a disc drive.

On the plus side, it does come with a 2TB solid-state drive, which is twice the storage of the original PS5 at launch. With some games requiring well over 100GB of storage, this is arguably worth the price alone.

However, it’s the improved specs that really makes the PS5 Pro worth purchasing, especially if you’re torn between graphics and performance.

The console aims to improve on the original PS5 in three main ways. Specifically with a bigger GPU, Advanced Ray-Tracing and AI-driven upscaling.

The GPU will provide rendering that’s up to 45% faster thanks to 67% more Compute Units and 28% faster memory. This should lead to a better balance between visuals and performance.

Advanced Ray Tracing will provide “more dynamic reflection and refraction of light”, which allows rays to be cast at double and sometimes even triple the speeds of the current PS5.

Then there’s the AI Driven Upscaling, which is said to use “machine learning-based technology to provide super sharp image clarity by adding an extraordinary amount of detail”.
