Helen Flanagan shares heartfelt fostering plans as she looks to expand family

Helen Flanagan has revealed she would love to become a foster carer in the future as the devoted mum-of-three opened up about her passion for family life.

The former Coronation Street star, who shares children Matilda, Delilah and Charlie with ex-fiancé Scott Sinclair, said motherhood remains the most important part of her life and admitted she could see herself helping more children one day.

Speaking to the Daily Star in collaboration with Paddy Power, Helen said: “I absolutely love children. When I’m older, I think fostering could be something lovely to do. I’ve always adored kids.” The actress has never hidden her love of being a mum and says those closest to her know family always comes first.

Asked how friends and family would describe her, former Corrie star Helen replied: “Mad, but in the best way. Funny. And a good mum.”

While she’s built a successful career in television and acting, Helen admits her happiest moments are often spent at home with her children. The star has frequently shared glimpses of family life on social media and says becoming a mum changed her outlook on life completely.

Despite the challenges that come with raising three youngsters, Helen has always embraced motherhood and now hopes she may eventually be able to offer support to other children in need.

Away from family life, the soap favourite admits she’s still a hopeless romantic at heart. “I’m very emotional and very romantic, so if I’m in love, I’m really in love,” she explained. “Everything feels very intense.”

But while Helen may wear her heart on her sleeve, she’s not easily impressed when it comes to dating. “Honestly, I get the ick easily,” she laughed.

“I’m very down to earth and romantic, but I need a real connection with someone. I have to feel understood. I’m not shallow at all. I care far more about personality and connection than anything else.”

One thing unlikely to change, however, is her love of glamour. She joked: “I’m also extremely glamorous in a very northern way.

“No matter what’s happening in my life, I’ll always have my French manicure, hair extensions, blow dry and glam done.”
